One of the most joyful and fulfilling parts of my life is
the service that I offer each year in the free clinic at Deorali
Chorten Gonpa, a Buddhist monastery in the Himalayan land
of Sikkim.
Since all of my needs are met while staying in the monastery,
I am able to require nothing in return. In that generous atmosphere
of freedom and appreciation wonderful results seem to occur.
It has long been my wish to duplicate the experience here;
to transcend, if only for a few hours a week, the 'tyranny
of overhead' of a practice in the business environment of
the west, by offering meaningful service to our friends and
neighbors in Marin who are in need.
